Chasing the Sun
LITTLE CHALFONT: With a small overgrown rear north-facing patio and an old dilapidated sunhouse at the end of the garden, the owners wanted to re-create the ‘sun traps’ for seating and to reduce the overall workload in their green space.
The original retaining wall was demolished and the patio removed to be replaced by a new Indian sandstone patio and path and a hardwood sun deck with arbour for climbers. The lawn was contoured to provide more interest and the planting areas reduced to allow for less maintenance. Having produced a plant palette, all planting was left to the owner.
