Out of the Darkness
CHALFONT: The house was completely enclosed by tall Leylandii trees and a spiraling mixed hedge on its other boundary. As a consequence, the house suffered from a distinct lack of light and circulating air. The existing drive was poor quality tarmac that extended all around the building. The task was turning a commercial space (undertakers) into a manageable low maintenance garden.
The trees and hedging were removed, a new fence was constructed and the tarmac drive replaced in preparation for resin bond surfacing. A front lawn was laid with a Photinia and Portuguese laurel boundary hedge. A slate path leads to the front door. Further planting and rear decking planned for Spring 2020.
